Education and Society

This book 'Education and Society' is specially written for the D.EI.Ed. Course according to new prescribed syllabus by SCERT, Delhi. The book attempts to provide an extensive as well as an in-depth analysis of various contents related to education and society. Education has been envisaged as a precursor not only to national development but also to social security. It was felt that Education is essential for all" and further education was considered as "Unique investment in present for better future" because human resource development is crucial not only economic point of view, but also for all other developments as well. Education is. a process of human empowerment for the achievement of a better and higher quality of life. We observed that there is a strong relationship between education and society. The fact that happens to the educational system undoubtedly affect the society, and whatever occurs in the society influence or shapes educational system in all its outcome. Society is the union itself, the organization; the sums of formal relations in which associating individuals are bound together. It is not a group of people; it is a system of relationship that exists between the individuals of the group.
