Romantic Poets

This critical edition to the poetry of the first generation Romantics, William Blake, William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge introduces the readers to some of thier most well known poems. This volume seeks to present a detailed picture of this complex cultural and artistic movement called Romanticism. With extensive notes on publishing details and other critical information, the volume brings together many critical essays written by foremost scholars on Romanticism. They give special insight not only about individual poems but focus on historical and cultural aspects of the movement. Blake's "Songs of Innocence and Experience" are printed here as they were written, in the form of Illuminated Writing. The poems and their illustrations are studied together to give a complete picture of Blake's special genius. The bibliography at the end tries to indicate some newer trend in scholarship that has emerged in the last two decades on three of Romanticism's most conventional poets.
